The Portals of Light

This is the ministry of Louise Morse Spence, a channel of the Holy Spirit. Louise has given an entire life of service for the Lord in prayer, healing, counseling and teaching. As an ordained minister since 1958, she traveled full time for ten years, now reducing the travel and holding regular meetings at the Home Center.

The lessons are directed to the soul, enlightening it that it may be able to rise up in new strength and power to overcome the destructive forces of the lower nature. They feed the soul with spiritual truths, bringing greater understanding, and preparing it for the coming of our Lord, which cannot now be too far distant.

If you hunger and thirst after the things of Spirit, we invite you to drink deep of the truths to be found herein. These lessons have been a great blessing to many, going out to several countries, as well as all across the States, for the past fourteen years. They have brought many into a truly Christian life, and an acceptance of the salvation bought for us by our Lord, Jesus Christ. The foundation of the work is the Holy Bible.

Morse Fellowship

The Morse Fellowship, a nonprofit corporation, is dedicated to bringing to the attention of all who sincerely seek spiritual enlightment, the deep and anointed teachings received through the nondenominational "Portals of Light" ministry of Reverend Louise Morse Spence.

It was founded by Louise Morse in 1959, in Silver Spring, Maryland. She and her husband, Elwood Morse, spent many years seeking God's will, prayerfully studying the truths and principles given in the Holy Bible, and following the teachings of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Wisdom was also conveyed to Louise by the Holy Spirit and some of the Angelic Host, who made themselves known to her.

In 1961 Louise moved the Fellowship to Alamogordo, New Mexico, three years after the unexpected passing of Elwood from the physical plane. The work expanded and flourished as Louise travelled back and forth across the country, ministering to groups and individuals who were thirsty for these truths, and spiritual understanding. Dedicated volunteer helpers maintained the Fellowship business at the Home Center, and published the lessons while she was absent.

In 1967 Louise made her first trip to Canada, and retreats were held in that country each summer for the next four years. Louise met Jim Spence in Canada, and it became apparent that Spirit was moving him into a close relationship to her, to enhance the effectiveness of the ministry. Consequently they were married in late 1967, and took up residence in Alamogordo, In 1968 Louise and Jim moved to Dallas, Texas, and later to Richardson (on the edge of Dallas) where they and the Home Center group now reside. After much deeper training and preparation, a fuller ministry than ever has come about.

In 1957 Louise was shown that the time had come to publish the lessons that she was receiving from Cosmic realms of Spirit. She has continued to receive these lessons through the past 15 years, and they have been distributed to those eagerly seeking deeper spiritual truths. Fellowship publications are furnished on a donation basis, but are available to all who ask for them, regardless of their ability to contribute in a material way. Those who are able to donate make this possible.

There is a special feeding for the soul carried on the voice vibration on the tapes. The Teachers have stressed time and time again the benefits that are received from hearing the spoken word. The tapes are also very helpful as a background for meditating, relaxing, or even sleeping, when the soul is fed. It is to the soul that this ministry is directed.

Because so many of our readers have asked us about our production costs, we include this information.

Magnetic tape recordings of these lessons are available, and may be purchased or borrowed. Our tape library numbers about 600 7" reel recordings. The purchase cost is $3.00, and when one borrows tapes, we do appreciate a donation of $1.00 toward the cost of packaging and mailing.

When ordering, please specify the session number, the size reel your recorder can accommodate (5" or 7"), and the tape speed (1 7/8, 3 3/4 or 7 1/2).

While the printed lessons usually contain only the teachers' words, the recordings are of the complete sessions, including reading from the Bible, or other inspired writings, many times a message from Louise, and her opening prayer. They quite often exceed two hours in length.

Single lessons cost us about 50¢, volumes $5.00, and paperback books $2.00. This includes production and mailing costs, but nothing for labor. All numbered lessons, topical booklets and volumes may be ordered singly, or in any sequence or quantity you wish. The entire work is listed under the principal title of "Through the Portals".

Morse Fellowship (closing page)

This is the publishing arm of the "Portals of Light" Ministry. It is incorporated as a non-profit organization under Federal and State laws, and as such can accept gifts, contributions, trusts and bequests, and issue tax-deductible receipts. Indeed, it is such gifts and contributions that pay for all the supplies and equipment needed to publish the lessons.

A list of the Fellowship publications will be sent upon request. There are many volumes in print, as well as individual lessons. Tapes of the several hundred sessions are also available, or they may be borrowed from the Fellowship. All lessons and tapes are given, to those requesting, on a voluntary gift or love offering basis. This is a work of the Lord, and the Holy Spirit moves and prompts those who are open to support it. Our costs are approximately 50¢ per lesson, $5.00 per volume, and $3.00 per tape.

May you respond to the Holy Spirit as you read the lessons, for it is by the Spirit that all things are revealed unto us.
